There is an instrument in Cuba that is used a lot in the countryside, it is not a string instrument nor a wind instrument, it is called the tingo talango. Tingo Talango. The tingo talango is played in the Cuban countryside and people get excited dancing to it overnight. Tingo talango. If you want me to describe what the tingo talango is like, bring me a piece of güira or, if not, a piece of mango. Suavecito, mi negra. A hole is made in the ground, on top of it a sheet of tin, in the center a hole, where a wire is tied. With these three elements that I am naming, you already have the Cuban instrument, the tingo talango. Hey! Suaveto, mi negra. Look, chinita. A small piece of güira. A hole is made in the ground. Hay en Cuba un instrumento
que se usa mucho en el campo,
no es de cuerda ni es de viento
se llama tingo talango.

Se toca el tingo talango
en la campiña cubana
y se entusiasman bailando

cómo es el tingo talango,
